Kings Of Leon Return With New Single 'Mustang,' Announce New Album

Grammy award-winning, multi-platinum rock band Kings of Leon have announced that their 9th full-length studio album, Can We Please Have Fun, will be out on May 10.

The hard-charging lead single "Mustang" is available now, accompanied by a high-flying music video that sets the pace for the album.

Can We Please Have Fun, as its title suggests, is a document of the great rock & roll band cutting loose, trying new things, and having some fun.

Recorded at Dark Horse studio in Nashville and produced with new collaborator Kid Harpoon, the album sees a new side of Kings of Leon.

On the new album, the band harkens back to their gritty origins while simultaneously finding new gears. It's the sound of a band unified in vision and purpose, freed from any expectations, and the album the band says they've always wanted to make.

"It was the most enjoyable record I've ever been a part of," Caleb Followill says about the making of the album. "It's like we allowed ourselves to be musically vulnerable," Nathan Followill adds. "I love it when a rock band is not embarrassed to admit that every song doesn't have to be on 11."

Kansas Drummer Phil Ehart Taking Time Away From Touring After Heart Attack

Kansas have announced that their original drummer and band manager, Phil Ehart, is taking time away from touring while he recovers from a recent major heart attack.

The progressive rock band did not give any timetable for Ehart's return to the road.

Kansas said in a statement that although Ehart is not joining his bandmates for performing, he will "remain in a prominent role with Kansas during his recovery, serving as band manager, as he has done for 40 years."

The band also announced Eric Holmquist will be on drums for Kansas starting with the March 1 concert in Richmond, Virginia.

Holmquist has filled in for Ehart on drums when he was ill in 2016, during his arm rehabilitation in 2022-2023, and has been performing the first half of shows during the Kansas 50th Anniversary Tour. Previously, Eric was Ehart's drum tech and protege for more than 20 years.

Kansas' 50th Anniversary Tour - Another Fork in The Road continues on March 1 in Richmond, Virginia. A complete list of tour dates can be found at kansasband.com.

Originally scheduled to end in January 2024, the 50th Anniversary Tour carries on, with more tour dates added in 2024 and beyond.

Billy Corgan To Star In National Wrestling Alliance Reality Show On The CW

Grammy Award-winning founder of the Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan will star in an upcoming National Wrestling Alliance reality show on The CW.

As part of a new streaming rights deal between the NWA and The CW, a series about Corgan's life, family, role as President of the NWA and his "day job" will debut on The CW later this year, NWA said, in apparent reference to the Smashing Pumpkins frontman's music career.

The series is "unscripted" and "untitled."

Announcing the deal, Corgan said multiple NWA programs will be streaming and on-demand via The CW platform and portal in the United States.

The action-packed wrestling programs are available free of charge and without a subscription via The CW app.

Flagship program "NWA Powerrr" is live on the platform now and features "Return to Robarts" programming. New episodes air weekly on Tuesdays with past seasons also available to stream.

Additionally, the much-anticipated Paranoia Live Event on Powerrr is also now available on The CW. The signature live event Paranoia features some of the league's top stars and a myriad of thrilling high-octane matches.

Next up, the massive signature live event Hard Times 2024 will premiere on the platform as part of future episodes of "NWA Powerrr," streaming on both CWTV.com and the CW app.

Regarding the alliance, Corgan commented, "The CW has made a big commitment to sports, and they have an incredible top-tier streaming platform. The network's audience represents a very wide swath of American culture-which wrestling has always been a key part of. This partnership gives us the opportunity to reach that audience more readily."
