Video For Joe Strummer's 'Fantastic' Arrives Featuring Never-Before-Seen Footage

Dark Horse Records has released a new video of Joe Strummer's "Fantastic." The Lance Bangs-directed music video features previously unseen footage from the Joe Strummer Archive.

The video features archival footage shot by Strummer, Dick Rude, Julien Temple, Don Letts, and Josh Cheuse, along with a special cameo by Eddie Vedder.

The previously unreleased track features on Joe Strummer 002: The Mescaleros Years, which dropped on September 16th, 2022, as part of the celebrations honouring Joe's 70th birthday year.

The box set is the first-ever comprehensive collection highlighting Joe's work with his post-Clash band, The Mescaleros.

The collection includes remastered editions of all three of the band's studio albums, plus 15 rare and unreleased tracks spanning the first demos Joe wrote for the Mescaleros, and outtakes of several tracks of Joe's final recordings with the band. The package is available 4 CD and 7 LP box sets.

"Fantastic" marks one of Strummer's final recordings, with vocals recorded in December 2002 at the Rockfield Studios in Monmouthshire, Wales, mere weeks after Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros played their last ever live show at Liverpool University on November 22, 2002.

Filter Announce New Single 'For The Beaten'

Filter have announced the upcoming release of their new single, "For The Beaten," on October 14 via Golden Robot Records.

The track will be the iconic band's first new track in two years. The track is described as "nothing short of classic FILTER and exactly what hardcore fans of the band have been anticipating for over two years."

"I spent a lot of time in the studio the last two years working on various projects and collaborations but at the core of it all, there is always FILTER," said frontman Richard Patrick,

He added, "We chose 'For The Beaten' as the first single because it's dynamic, dark, and heavy, just like the moment we are in. I look forward to working with Golden Robot and can't wait for everyone to hear the full album."

The song was co-written by Patrick and newcomer Zack Munowitz. It was co-produced by Patrick and long-time collaborator Brian Virtue and was mastered by Howie Weinberg.

Jimmy Eat World Share Acoustic Version Of 'Something Loud'

Arizona rockers Jimmy Eat World recently released an intimate acoustic-driven version of their current hit song "Something Loud."

"We thought it would be fun to make a stripped-down, alt version of 'Something Loud' along with some kind of video element," says Jim Adkins. "As we recorded parts, we filmed it. So what you're watching is what you're hearing."

"Something Loud" was released on June 10, 2022 as the band's first independent single on their label, Exotic Location.

The alternative rock band are currently on the road with their Something Loud Tour. The tour kicked off on September 8 at Rock Hall Live in Cleveland, Ohio, and concludes with a performance at the When We Were Young festival in Las Vegas on October 29.

The band is also working on their new album, which is being produced by the band along with Justin Meldel-Johnson.

Jimmy Eat World released their 10th and most recent album, Surviving, in 2019.
