Culver Elementary School staff had an unwelcome greeting when they got to work around 7:30 this morning. Taped to the front door was a threatening note stating there were three bombs in the school and they had until Friday to find them. Law enforcement was immediately called and Jefferson County Sheriff along with Culver Police and Oregon State Police respond to the scene. The school was evacuated and adjacent streets closed off while law enforcement conduct a search of the school. Deputy Erbey Dominguez with the sheriff's office says they did not find any evidence of a bomb. Dominguez says they have no suspects and do not know why Culver Elementary School was targeted. The kids were allowed back into the school around 9:30. Deputies counseled with the kids and found most of them remained very calm during the ordeal. If you have any information about this case or know who wrote the threatening note, please contact Deputy Dominguez at 475-6520.
